Polmenna Pools began in 2021 on the Roseland peninsula, where both of us live. Llewellyn had spent years watching pool projects in Cornwall go wrong for the same reason: national companies quoting from a desk two hundred miles away, with no idea what Cornish ground, weather and access do to a build. Luke had just moved to the area and wanted a pool of his own built properly — and couldn't find anyone he'd trust to do it.
So we built it ourselves. Then a neighbour asked for one. Then a holiday home owner. Five years on, our pools feature at three Unique Homestays properties — Forestkeepers, The Marlings and Lightkeepers — and we've never once advertised. Every project has come from someone seeing a pool we built and asking who made it.
We deliberately keep it that way. Five or six pools a year is the number we can build while one of us is personally on site for every stage of every project. We could take on more. We won't.

A Cornish builder through and through. Llewellyn runs LSR Construction and brings to every pool the thing most pool companies lack: real building expertise. Groundworks, drainage, structure, finishing — the parts of a pool you never see are the parts that decide whether it's still perfect in twenty years.

A vet by profession, Luke moved to the Roseland in 2021 and brought a clinician's precision to pool design. Filtration, heating, water chemistry, plant rooms — the systems that keep a pool healthy get the same rigour he'd give a patient. If something can be done better, it will be.
We work in affiliation with Ambassador Pools and Paragon, two of the most respected names in UK pool equipment and construction. It means the pumps, filtration and materials in your pool are proven, supported and replaceable for decades — not whatever was cheapest that month.
And because we're rooted here, you can see our work before you commit. Several of our pools can be visited in person on the Roseland — just ask.
